Using Story Archetypes in Content Marketing The Voyage & Return
So, quick recap! Yesterday, we talked about The Quest. It's great for framing long, difficult yet transformative experiences like selling a coaching service or a masterclass. This is a popular storyline for kids stories because the story starts right off the bat as you're immediately thrown into Awful/Awesome Land.
In 2004, Christopher Booker charted out hundreds of storylines into 7 basic archetypes. According to Booker, these 7 archetypes are the backbones of contemporary storytelling.
Narrative is an extremely powerful tool in content marketing. Storytelling is how we process the world around us, learn behaviors and understand our very selves. If you want to be a successful content creator, blog writer, social media marketer, it is imparative that storytelling be the foundation from which you build your empire.
